Admission Process

Yearly Years

We welcome students of 3+ to 4 years of age with a special focus on self-care skills and readiness for learning in a school setting.

Pre-school places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, the priority is given to siblings where possible, although we cannot guarantee offers of a sibling place. We strive to achieve a gender balance.

Pre-school students move up to Year 1 school, although entry is competitive and a place in Primary school is not guaranteed.

Primary Year 1 (age 5+) and Year 2 (age 6+)

Primary Years 1 and 2 are main intake years. We use “taster” days for group and individual assessments to determine admission. Every effort is made to ensure that children feel relaxed and enjoy the experience. Assessments can take place through the school year provided that we have available places.

Key Stages 2, 3 and 4

Apart from Year 2, we offer a small number of places in KS 2, 3 and 4 with entrance assessments for Y3-Y9 involving tests covering SAT English, modules in mathematics and science.

Those applying to Y10, 11 and 12 will do some of the past-paper tests or SAT tests on core subjects. Children also spend time working on group tasks in the class and are interviewed.

Six Form: A Levels

Le Fort welcomes applications for AS level course (Y12). Entrance Assessments take place in February - April before the academic year of entry. Please contact the Admissions Office for further information.

For curricular reasons, we do not admit new students to Year 13 or individual candidates to sit A Level exams.
